Emei pvp
Rosy Cloud Stab PvP Set Summaries
Your bread & butter. Not much control but very tanky with maybe the highest-priority skill in the game in Move Clouds and See the Sun and a great rage in Meridians Breaking. Play footsie. Dash in, hit with a charge skill, dash out, queue up a charge, repeat until you can spin on their face.
Recommended Leveling: Meridians Breaking to 5, Rosy Clouds Slowly Rise to 5, Move Clouds and See the Sun and Morning Clouds and Evening Rain to whatever feels comfortable.
Golden Diamond Soft Palm
Great in PvE and large-scale PvP, limited utility otherwise. Buddhist Heart Subdues the Devil does pretty excellent damage with a 20m range and Golden Buddha Aura gives everyone near you 75% damage reduction for ten seconds at level 5. Block, move away, whore Buddhist Heart, activate Golden Buddha whenever it seems useful.
Recommended Levelling: Buddhist Heart Subdues the Devil and Golden Buddha Aura to 5.

Departing Sting
The Other PvP Set, shines in large-scale PvP. Departing Sting revolves around building up stacks of Parting Sorrow through Kindred Death and blocking, activating Transcend the Worldly, stunning everyone in the area with Loathsome Clouds and Rain, and then finishing with an airborne Departed Kin for 1000+ damage. Sorrow of Parting does pretty decent damage for a charge and Shadow and Spirit Depart is the most infuriating block break for fighting rage-based sets. Don't bother with Death Do Us Part in small-scale PvP, the animation is so long you're guaranteed to eat a few hits. Blocking with Far and Removed will build up Parting Sorrow stacks even when you have other weapon sets equipped so a late fight swap to Departing Sting can be pretty scary.

If you find Loathsome Clouds and Rain is getting blocked a lot, learn to abuse the super armor it gives you. That gold glow you get during the animation makes you immune to any kind of interrupt besides stuns, which makes it possible to weave it through any kind of long attack animation. Be erratic with it.

Far and Removed is possibly the best block skill in the game, get it to 5 ASAP and use it on every set. It gives an extra .5 rage per block per level which is pretty spectacular.

Recommended Levelling: Far and Removed to 5, Departed Kin and Transcend the Worldly to 5, Sorrow of Parting and Loathsome Clouds and Rain to 3+.

Match-ups (Pre-Goose Step)
Ranking from ++ to --

Shaolin: ++ (Recommended: Rosy Cloud Stab)
Good news, Emei is one of the only classes that really mess Shaolin up. Move Clouds and See the Sun activates fast enough to break most of Long Boxing's comboes and your mobility really hurts their staff sets as long as you don't airdash into Bhodidarma's spin. Play footsie, time their block breaks, outlast them.

Emei: N/A (Recommended: Swap sets a lot)
Have the lower ping and be aggressive. Be the second one to use Loathsome Clouds. Don't use Meridians Breaking.

Wudang: -- (Recommended: Departing Sting)
Wudang just do Emei's gimmicks better than Emei does. They're tankier with the inner force -> health swap and they have a better spin and better control along with good ranged damage. Get in and mess them up fast if you want a chance, the longer the fight gets drawn out the more of an advantage their better healing gives them. Don't hit their block, that feeds them IF. If they try to back out of the fight, that probably means they're going for the heal. The good news is that very few of their ranged skills autotarget, so as long as you stay mobile you can mostly negate that and take advantage of the long animations.

Beggars' Sect: -
Don't jump or you'll get piledriven. Without Goose that locks you into close-range fighting with a school that's pretty good at it. Keep your block up and dance around directly on top of them to make their combo miss. Don't jump.

Tangmen: - (Recommended: Departing Sting)
Wowee fuck Tangmen. If they're using the set with the stun dart, use stings and really whore your block break because if they get their rage off it's over. Stay on top of them, dodge their block break because it has a knockdown, block the stun dart, and keep chipping away at their rage until you can land your stun. I don't know how to fight the other sets because I can't tell them apart.

Scholars: + (Recommended: Rosy Cloud Stab)
Scholars have an unfortunate combination of low health and multi-hit attacks. As long as you dodge or interrupt their guard breaks you can just straight-up power through them.

Leisure Kick: LK has a knockback that can lock you in blocking long enough to follow up with their guard break and a rage that'll do 60-80% of your life. Don't get hit by either. It also has two charges, one of which has higher priority than Move Clouds. Play footsie and be unpredictable with your blocks. You can afford to eat some damage, just don't get hit by that rage. Departed Stings are a very good swap against this set.

Falling Flower Sword: The Scholar spin set. Use the dagger and try not to get hit by the guard break because they can combo decently out of that. If it comes down to it, you can go spin against spin with this set and come out on top thanks to the heal from Meridians Breaking.

Boundless Sword: Not scary. Mostly just used to put up Drop in the Sea for the damage buff early on, then swapped to Leisure Kick. Has a ranged knockdown if you're airborne so watch for that.

Royal Guards: N/A (Recommended: Departing Sting)
Fighting RGs is entirely about reading the player. They have one block break, one pull, one stun, and one spin. Bait the block break, block the rest, stun them and go to town. If you can do that consistently then you will always win.

If they're using Eagle Claw (who uses Eagle Claw seriously) don't block if they're on the ground, block if they're in the air. That's about it.

Wanderer's Valley: -----
??????? -- Me dying horribly, February - April 2013

Fighting WV requires control that Emei just doesn't have. Stings work sometimes if you can get your stacks up. Block their stuff, airdash away when your skills get disabled 'cause that includes your block, and make your stun count. WV rely on dictating the pace of the fight, separate and reset if you're not comfortable with how things are going. The ranged attack they have does a crapton of damage, don't just sit there and take it.

Note: Golden Diamond Soft Palm is actually surprisingly effective against Wind-Catching Blade. Keep your distance and whittle them down at range, stacking slows to keep them from catching up. You have way more health and ton of damage mitigation, so you can usually outlast them.
